Hi all,
I may be imagining this (and it may be only relevant in certain countries) but is it true that you can sometimes only travel if you have at least 3/6 months left on your current passport? My girlfriend's runs out this summer you see, and we don't want to be caught out. We're planning to go to Prague in March and then Menorca in June. Many thanks. |

Hey ..
Yeah that is true for certain countries. I dont know about prague but for example america won't let you into the country if you have anyless than 6 months left on your passport! |

Dear Jon,
I checked on the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website (www.fco.gov.uk) and they state that an mimimum period for expiry of a passport is "usually six months". However, may I suggest that you contact the relevant embassies in London to confirm the above. You don´t want an embarrassing situation at the airport! The details are as follows: The Embassy of the Czech Republic: www.mzv.cz/london. The Embassy of Spain: No website listed, however the address and contact number are: 39 Chesham Place London SW1 8SB. 0207 235 5555. I trust that the above will be of use to you. Best wishes Kevin :-) |

Thank you both very much for dropping me a line...in particular Kevin for going to so much trouble.
I'll follow up what you had to say. All the best to both of you. |

Dear Jon,
You are more than welcome for the information. I am pleased that I could be of assistance to you. It would be great if you can leave some feedback about both destinations in the future. Best wishes Kevin :-) |

it's at least 3months to pretty much every country you can think of - i had this problem last year which mean a new passpot in august and another in december, and had to pay full price for both - not happy!
