I've tried to find buses, flights, or trains leaving from Frankfurt and arriving in Florence that aren't too expensive in August. It would also be really helpful if the trip could be as short as possible, and I'm going with two other people. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, thanks a lot!!

Low-cost airline Ryanair - www.ryanair.com - fly from Frankfurt (Hahn) to Pisa, often extremely cheaply. Admittedly, your chances of a cheap flight in August are slim - but you never know until you try!
