Hi,
I have a trip planned from the 6th of July to the 4th of August with my boyfriend but we just broke up. I still want to go but i'm terrified of going solo. This is my itenerary, if anyone can meet me at any part of the trip, it would be great. 5th - 10th July => London 11th - 17 th July => Paris 18th - 23rd of July => Barcelona from then on, it's pretty much open. I have a hotel booked in the south of france, where we were gonna drive to from Barcelona, but i can easily cancel that.i was also hoping to visit italy. I am 27 year old female from australia, professional and easy going. I can also speak fluent french. Please help, i have 10 days left and suddenly, no travel partner. |

Don't worry about your sudden loss of travel partner. Travelling alone has many advantages. If you travel with another person (or group of people) you tend to end up compromising on where you want to go, and you tend to form a unit that insulates you from others. Travel also puts great strain on friendships and relationships - I speak from experience!
On the other hand, if you travel alone - and many travellers of both sexes do travel alone - you have total freedom to do what you like when you like. You'll inevitably meet other travellers, so you'll have companionship when you want it. And your fluent French will greatly endear you to the locals in France. So, just go for it - alone or otherwise. You'll learn a lot, have lots of fun - and you'll never forget it! Best wishes Pete |
