Hello. We're two teenagers who intend to tour Europe for around a month between August and September this year; at the moment we're in the planning stage, and hope to complete the journey for anywhere up to a thousand pounds. It is our first trip of this kind. We're interested in culture (architecture, music, art, food etc. etc.) and have several ideas already about where we want to go, but are grappling with a multitude of questions. Here is a rough plan of our journey so far, with a large gap that we'd like help filling - any ideas would be much appreciated. Generally though, our plan is flexible - what we'd really like is ideas!

Other questions include:

1. Is it better to plan way in advance, booking accommodation, or to get there and do it 'ad hoc'?
2. How easy would it be to get accommodation in August-September if not prebooked (in cheap hostels)?

Day Itinerary
1 Fly to Budapest (Easyjet, preferably Bristol, book ASAP).
2 Budapest.
3 Budapest.
4 Budapest. Leave at midday for Vienna.
5 Vienna.
6 Vienna.
7 Leave early for Prague (4-5hrs). Arrive midday in Prague.
8 Prague.
9 Prague.
10 Leave early for Salzburg (4-5hrs). Arrive midday in Salzburg.
11 Salzburg.
12 Leave early for Munich (1.5-2hrs). Munich.
