too late now. your best bet is to head to the museum quarter, there a a number of hotels around... but its daylight robbery! alternatively try some of the executive *****'s like the inter-continental, marriot, or hilton. However, if you can, why not stay somewhere like Leiden and just stay up all NYE. you could still gamble all your savings away,dude!
We were there last year, rembrandtplein is a top plcae to stay, there's some great bars and a quality night club, cafe kroon, which you'll need to buy tickets for. There's a best western hotel nearby which is good value. you're not living in with all the scumbags in the redlight district, but you're still close to everything.
