Just wondering if you all can share your thoughts on how to save money while traveling in and through Rome, Italy. I was there is 1996 for a while and found it a bit expensive. Does anyone know of some good deals? cheap places to stay? cheap eat? etc. I found a few gems..like a hostel right near the Vatican called Pensione Ottaviano that was cheap and good but everything else such as food, transport and actually the first place I stayed at near Termini was expensive expensive. What do you guys think?
