Hi, I'm a single woman looking to visit Naples, Vesuvius, Pompeii etc., in the spring/summer. Are there any recommended companies who provide group holidays? I'd prefer to be with others and make new friends along the way... Or is it better to go it alone and get a flight and hotel and arrange the excursions when I arrive etc.?

Hi,
I think that you shouldn't miss to visit the area where I live, there are a lot of interesting things to see that it is a pity not to visit. Only 250 Km. south of Rome you can admire the ruines of Pompei,Ercolano, devastated by Vesuvius, you can enjoy the wonderful view of Amalfi Coast with its nice fishermen villages curved in the cliffs. You can also reach Sorrento and the isle of Capri, for exemple from my city (SALERNO) there are daily connections to all these sights. A visit to Naples is worthy too, and the discovery of the temples of Paestum, one of few examples in the world of ancient Greek. For more info about cheap accomodation in the area visit my website http://www.holidayhouses.it |

i visit this part of the world every couple of years. Usually book flights and hotels on the web-go through an established booking site like expedia or octopus to ensure the hotels are ok. the spas are highly recommended If you are on your own you may consider renting a car -single lasses can leave them exposed to wolf whistles and groups of blokes 'chatting'you up on trains etc. its usually harmless but may be daunting if you dont know street italian.
