and how do we contact them...?
I ask as I posted a long and extremely helpful reply about travelling to Croatia on the EUROPE forum for ShebaCollins and it was deleted. This meant that other peole could not benefit from the question and answer... so I've now posted a FAQ with less links to the Lonely Planet site! So what was wrong with my answer - don't tell me it was because it had LONELY PLANET ONLINE urls' in it? thanks for clearing this up... I had the same experience recently on Lonely Planet. When I asked them the same question you did, they banned me, forever. That stung, but I'd rather not deal with a site that treats its contributors so callously anyway. Let me add that I scrutinized their rules carefully (which are quite similar to this site's), and could find nothing I'd violated, though they claimed I'd posted advertising (I suggested a few links to people who asked for information; I don't see how that's advertising if I don't make any money) and off-topic posts (my posts were always about travel in the relevant region).
Hope I don't meet the same fate here now! Though I should point out to you that in this site's rules, they claim the right to delete posts anytime for any or for no reason. Doesn't exactly encourage doing any extensive research for anyone... |
