Can anyone give me any information about Margarita Island in the Caribbean? What is there to see on the island, how big is it, how safe is it to wander round in the evening, what are the hotel standards like, etc. Just like to hear anything really!!

I have been on two cruises that stopped there. The first cruise, we got off and wandered the island. NOTHING to do, and TONS of trash scattered all over the island. It was so gross that on the next cruise, we just stayed on the boat. Others felt that way about the island too. I wouldn't recommend it. But that is just my opinion.
