I am planning a trip to Cuba with a number of my friends. I am looking for advice, if not outright recommendations.

We are probably going to be about 10 people. We would like to locate inexpensive accomodation, and would prefer to stay away from resorts. How likely is it that we'll find a place to stay? Should we book in advance, or wing it when we land? I can deal with uncertainty in my plans, but I don't want to end up stuck with no place to sleep for a week.

We're aiming for the end of February/beginning of march.
