I found this interesting website at www.cubaecosailing.com which offers ecological and sailing tours to Cuba. It talks about visiting eco-systems, rainforests, coral islands with lots of flora and fauna to be seen both onshore and offshore. Some ares are not fully explored and are virgin territory. The area know as Jardines de la Reina has something like 660 coral islands, some with hidden Spanish treasure - who knows! A lost paradise for the more adventurous! Worth checking out.
