We are thinking of travelling around Cuba with a 6 months old baby. Has anyone done this? Is Cuba a baby-friendly place? I would really appreciate any advice.

Dear Nicky (Anne?)

I have been to Cuba with my children too. I can't think of any particular concerns for this trip: Cuba, and Havanna in particular, is a terrific destination for parents as well as children. There's so much to see and enjoy without going far, it is also easy to get around and safe, the water supply - depending on where you are - should be fine etc. And of course, the music is sublime, and children are welcome when out and about. It does help but it is not essential to speak some Spanish, and the choice of accomodation is important - particularly if you are weaning, or if your baby is not exclusively bottle-fed which I expect is the case. If you would like more specific feedback, tell me where you have previously travelled, your aims for this trip, and of the things that you might be particularly worried about. It would also help to know if you are a single parent and planning to travel alone or with other adult company, and whether or not you have other children in tow.

Cheers and hope you have a good time regardless.

Fawzia
