Can anyone tell me whether or not they'd recommend visiting the Carribean around 18 October for a week? Am particularly interested in St Lucia but am concerned whether this is rainy/hurricane season. Any advice gratefully received.

Hi there, we have just returned from an amazing time on St.Maarten. We found with outfit on the internet and tried our luck with them and whammo..What luck in finding these guys. They met us at the immigration arrival hall, all wearing orange shirts. They provide a Upscale VIP service tailored to all pockets. And sice we where on a budget we where treated as if we where royals. They hurried us through the long immigration lines and found ourselves way ahead of our luggage. But these guys had other plans. They had a Luxury SUV waiting for us outside and told us that our luggage would meet us later at our villa which we rented from them. DROP DEAD WOW... what a villa and what a view..
We are going to return year after year if we can afford it because it sure was a dream come true. Look for them on the internet http://www.caribbeanexotica.com/index.html.

Ask for Ronald when emailing. What a true Jewel.
Chao and have fun..Please let us know what you discovered.

Hello,

We have been there same period of time sailing from Martinique to Grenada and back. We have not experienced any problems with bad weather -maybe we were lucky-. I think October is going into the end of the hurricane season, so it shouldn't be that bad but you can always be unlucky.
What we found very possitive was that there weren't that many tourists as yet, touristic season starts later!

Amazingly beautiful but very expensive I found...

Good Luck!

I would just check the weather first before I go and make sure no hurricane is on the way. A good idea for this time of year would be to buy travel insurance also, just in case something comes up.

The weather has been son unpredictable of late so travel insurance isnt a bad idea. Generally though that time of year is great in Jamaica where I live cant say anything about St. Lucia.

But take care and do enjoy your trip when you go.
