Dear Eco-Traveler:

Hello again from La Cusinga Lodge! We have been hard at work out here at the lodge and wanted to inform you of the new and exciting changes we have been making.

We have recently added a honeymoon suite to our group of cabins. This secluded bungalow includes a deluxe king-size bed, where you can enjoy your traditional Costa Rican breakfast, delivered piping hot by a La Cusinga staff member. The honeymoon suite features a beautiful, hand-laid stone bathroom and shower. The outdoor garden area is the perfect place for couples to relax and take-in the unspoiled night sky.

La Cusinga has just finished construction on a brilliant new addition to our restaurant. The extended wood porch includes a relaxing sitting area, perfect for wildlife viewing or enjoying your favorite book and an observation deck where you can soak up majestic views of the Pacific Ocean and some of the best sunsets in Costa Rica!

La Cusinga Lodge is in the process of gaining the Costa Rican Tourism Board’s Certification of Sustainability. This organization recognizes the efforts of lodges that are striving to shield the environment, culture, and society from the negative impacts of tourism. Additionally, La Cusinga is one of the 9 founding members of the Sustainably Managed Association of Responsible Tourism (SMART). The SMART Network consists of hotels around the world that have developed practices that support conservation, cultural development, and increased traveler awareness.
