Jus returned from snorkelling on the great Barrier reef, which was great however would have been better if we'd been allowd t scuba dive. Sadl we were prvented from doing so by the company's (TUSA scuba diving, Cairns, Australia) on call doctor! As we'd spent a month in Vietnam prior to arriving in Cairns, we were still taking our prescribed anti malaria medication (Doxycycline) which according to their Doctor meant we couldn't dive. The company were great about it and refunded our money without any problem but it puzzels us as to why the decision was made, especially when friends (also on Doxycycline) scuba dived in Vietnam!!
Just a warning fr other travellers who leave a Malarial area en route to Cairns hoping to dive.
