I'm a big fan of Eagle Creek and have a backpack (continental Journey) and I bought a carry-on wheeled suitcase for domestic business travel. So, here's my question: how well do suitcases with wheels work on the streets of Europe? Thanks for your advice.

Ciao baby.

They don't work well on the streets of Europe, especially in the older towns where they have cobbled streets. When we went to London for 10 days two years ago, we took a suitcase with wheels (since we stayed in just one hotel). Boy, was it a pain in the neck! Just getting from and to the airport with a suitcase was an adventure for us. You can easily do well with a backpack.
