Hi there,
we recently travelled through Costa Rica. What a spectacular country. Your travel guide (2005 edition) is the one we took with us, and we highly recommend it. Your guide proved to be invaluable, and saved us a lot of money. We rarely make reservations or plans until we actually get there. Thanks for your tremendous effort in compiling useful travel data. One huge disappointment: we did our souvenir shopping in various stores your guide highly recommends. When we drove back from Arenal to the San Jose Airport we stopped by accident at Galeria Coco Loco Arts & Crafts between La Fortuna and La Tigra on the 142 road to San Ramon. They have a fabulous selection of reasonably priced local arts & crafts on sale including lovely items we didn’t see in other shops. They offer a FREE shipping service to the U.S. for purchases over $ 250 (we now greatly regret the outrageous UPS shipping fees one other store charged us just the day before). We used their offer and 15 days later the box arrived in perfect condition delivered by U.S. Postal Services. To all travellers to Costa Rica: make sure you don't fall victim to the shipping services almost all shops offer to you. They are way overprized and the good old Postal Service works perfectly. At a fraction of the fees of any private carrier. Definitely worth recommending this unique gallery and their very friendly owners. Please check them out. Enjoy Costa Rica!!
