My husband and I recently spent a wonderful week in northern Spain, armed, as usual, with an excellent Rough Guide. We went to the Picos de Europa for some serious walking and found that the Teleferico (which must be the scariest and most exhilarating cable car ride in the world) now costs €7.50 for a single and €14 for a return trip, rather than €6 and €10. Also in the Picos, the restaurant of the posada Anjana in Puente Viesgo is listed as being 'excellent', but after having eaten there, we would strongly suggest this be changed to 'excellent value', as it is cheap and cheerful but most certainly not excellent! In terms of accommodation in the Picos, a glaring omission in the list of places to stay in Espinama is the charming habitaciones/apartamentos Sebrango, which, for all its thin walls, is very friendly and welcoming. Our room (with its own balcony) was lovely, and so was breakfast (Tel/fax 942 736 615). Lastly, as great wine lovers and long-standing visitors to Aragón, we must object to Campo de Borja, near Zaragoza, with its fantastic and increasingly popular wines, not featuring in the Aragón Wine Route section. Campo de Borja wines are far superior to Cariñena!
