I am reporting a theft in a hotel in Palolem / Polem, South Goa. This is a beach frequented by many foreigners, and is very secluded. In less than 6 hours of reaching here our baggage and money was stolen. The police, or the owner have not been able to help in more than a week. It is said that theft is very common in this hotel, named Bhakti Kutir or Coco huts-Bhakti kutir, and it is generally foreign travellers who have no time to stay and follow up the crime are the victims. everyone here has a different set of possible robbers, some say it is the insiders, which could be, as none of the 4 dogs barked when it was taking place, but when i went searching they raised a hell; and some say it is a gang. Whatever it is, please be warned that no one helps after a theft, and this place has a lot of them.
