Hey all.
Was wondering whether anyone could offer some sound advise on the 'Oz Experience'. I am planning on travelling around Australia for 2 months in April - on a relatively tight budject. My route is rather predictable : I'll be travelling north from Sydney up the Eastern coast, hopefully as far as Cairns. I have heard that the Oz Experience bus/coach service is a good way of getting about, though i've also heard it is restrictive and theres a high probability of being lumbered with a lot of louty, drunken tourists - without being a snob!
I know there is also a Greyhound coach service - can anyone advise me which one is better -??

Thanks for your time!

Hi,personally I would avoid the oz experience as I found both that and the kiwi experience to be somewhat restrictive in terms of destinations.they only seemed to go to major places and never realy venture off the beaten track.I also didn't think they were that cheap. Also depending on when you travel (e.g. high season) it can be like being on a bus for club 18-30.When I was in Oz a few years ago I bought a ticket for the train between sydney and brisbane and back and could get on and off as much as I wanted. I just had to call ahead the day before. It was quite cheap and could get me to most places I want to go and I just used local bus services for any additional travel. I know there were other train tickets e.g. sydney to Cairns or sydney to Darwin.Hope this helps. Have fun
