Hi, I'm travelling to Australia in September/October on a one year working holiday visa. The route is LONDON to JO'BURGH to PERTH to SYDNEY on a one way World Discovery ticket.
I was wondering how long I should stay in Perth? Whether anyone has suggestions for things to do, places to stay, trips to go on, etc? Obviously this information will determine how long I think I should hang around for. All information would be gratefully received as this is my first foray into long distance solo travelling. Cheers :O) |

Hi ya,
Perth is Australia's only City situated right on the coast making a great place if you like to surf, swim or just soak up a few rays. There are a number of things to do in and around Perth though within a week you'll be looking much further afield for more things to do. If you're in to Flora & Fauna check out Rottnest Island lying just off the West Australian coast. The island is home to one Australia's strangest animals (and that's saying something) the Quokka - these are not found anywhere else in Oz. You could head south for an enjoyable day in Fremantle - pottering around this Heritage Town made famous in 1983 when The America's Cup sailing trophy was brought to here by the winning crew of a certain "winged keel." Alternatively, take some time to explore Perth itself and the Swan River region. Hope you have great time! |
