Hi there - we are heading up to the Sunshine Coast in a few weeks and were going to stay at the Mooloolaba Beach - have just heard some fairly dreadful things about it from others passing thru - has anyone stayed there recently - or know of any other budget accommodation on the Coast - we have our own van so it doesnt matter if it is a bit out of town - someone mentioned Maroochy River Bungalows - sounded ok - anyone know about it?

The backpackers at Mooloolaba was pretty decent last time I stayed. Granted, that was '99, but drove past it last year as well and it still looked fine. Close to beach and shops, fairly pricey but clean and with a pool. http://www.mooloolababackpackers.com/
