my name is elena from austria, and i have recently explored new zealand "the creative way", i.e. through visiting some interactive workshops offered by Creative Tourism New Zealand. i created my own bone carving souvenir and weaved my own little harakeke (flax) basket. it was so much fun,and i would like to do a lot more!!!
has anyone of you heard of anything similar? i believe it's a great idea to explore new zealand "off the beaten tourist track", and i can definitely recommend it to any keen, "interactive" traveller out there. the places i've been to were nelson & golden bay on top of new zealand's south island. workshops are not limited to these regions, though, and i soon plan to do one in christchurch, too. perhaps you know some other good places, too!?
