Hi,
Personally I would bypass the hostels altogether - you end up staying in dorms with loads of other backpackers - I would highly recommend going directly to the villages themselves. Everything you want to know about village homestays is at www.fijibure.com - your hosts are the fijians themselves and they welcome you as a member of their village - unlike staying in resorts and hostels where you're always an outsider...
