Hi
I am going to Melbourne and the GBR in May. Any tips for fun/interesting things to do in Melbourne. I want to do a liveaboard in the GBR - which are the good companies to do this with. Any dos / donts on diving out there and organising a trip. Any help would be much appreciated!! Thanks Angela Angela |

Hi Angela,
I can recommend Quicksilver as they have 20 years in the business and they know their stuff. They also have very comfortable cabins - check out http://www.great-barrier-reef.com/quicksilver/diversity.html for a list of their various packages. As for Melbourne, take a tram up to Brunswick for a mooch around this traditional yet cosmopolitian suburb. If the weather is fine (but not windy) go to St.Kilda beach - gentle waves and some very good restaurants. Have fun! |

Other things you should do in Melbourne is visit the new Federation Square on the Yarra River if your into Art then this is the place to go. The Victorian Art Gallery has also just been renovated and displays a great selection of Australian & European masters.
Lygon St in Carlton is a must see for the fantastic restaurants and cafes, food in Melbourne is out of this world. The casino is also good for a visit if your into gambling, the best in Oz and oh yeah the shopping in the centre of town is always great. Have fun Travel Australia with AusEmade AusEmade |
