Heya!
There is obviously a lot of fruitpickers in NZ and Australia. Many people do it, because it's easy and everywhere. But what if you had a degree in gardening ? Would you get a better pay or upper positions (than a regular picker)?? Of course the school system in NZ & Aus is way different from ours here in Finland, and their idea of a "gardener" is different too, but it's basically a 3 year degree, which includes a lot of stuff from forestry, vegetables, all kinds of farming, flowers, etc. I've specialized in general garden and greenhouse production (but for what i have collected information - greenhouses are very rare in NZ and Aus ) I can pick fruit without complaint but just thought that what if my papers can do me any good.. Even if you're not sure, and have just a feeling, please do elaborate! -J |
