I'm flying out to Bangkok to spend xmas and new year with a friend who's doing the backpacking thang. It's all been arranged at the last minute and neither of us have been to Thailand before (we'll both be arriving in Bangkok couple of days before xmas).

We're hoping to find somewhere groovy on the coast to celebrate new years eve - anybody got any recommendations? Basically we just want a beech and a party party atmosphere.
