Hi I am going backpacking and I am wondering what experience / advice people have regarding photo processing. Digital is fine except, having to carry software and batteries !
Can anyone recommend a good online photo developer and could you explain how they work cos I am not very technically minded ! Thanks |

If you prefer digital photography, it won't be a problem. Most countries you go to should have digital download shops, where they burn it onto a CDROM for you. Just take a universal charger, and you should be fine.
If you use film, developing in many countries is fine - eg. we've had photos developed in Thailand, India, and Vietnam, all of which look great. I've heard Cambodia, on the other hand, isn't so good (friends of ours who live there wait for a trip to Thailand for processing). If you really want to wait until you get home for processing, you could send packages home periodically (eg. UPS, or some other secure mail service). |

I carried film for my year trip a while ago. The development in places such as Thailand is NOT as sharp as here in the UK, although it's pretty good. Personally, go for digital - lighter, easier, and keep it all on one memroy card!
You could down load on your way to CDs on your own website! I love my big old SLR for city breaks but small and digital for longer |
