Both my fiance and i are planning for our honeymoon, and though we
are certain that we'd love to go somewhere that boasts a perfect balance between nature and city life - i'm stuck and mind-blocked for choices! Where do you think i should go? Both my fiance and i prefer not to splurge on the honeymoon, as we are prudently planning for other important stuff after our wedding. Where are the notable resorts in Asia? Do you know of any reliable travel agents, specialising in affordable honeymoon retreats? thank you! |

This is exactly what myself and my fiancee are doing in preparation for our honeymoon September 2005.
We wanted the exotic island without the exotic price tag option and read about the Lakshadweep islands in the Times newspaper. They were described as shipwrecked island feel, and the more you read about them, i'm sure the more you will fall in love with them as we have. We also want to combine nature with adventure and sun, and the Lakshadweeps are perfect for the unspoilt minimalism, at a bargain price (try the Keralan tourist board and other search engines on the Lakshadweeps). We are planning ours as 8 days touring Kerala (including Kochi, backwater trip, Periyar wildlife reserve and Munnar) with the latter 6 days on the Lakshadweeps. Happy hunting, and will let you know how we get on. My reason for being on here, are we taking our chances by travelling at the end of the monsoon period????? |

Hi All,
I am thinking of going to the Lakshadweep Islands for Honeymoon as well, (Bangaram Island resort). Appears more rustic, unspoilt and un-commercialized compared to resorts in nearby Maldives. Has anyone been there? Any tips etc? Thanks, |

if you want somewhere inexpensive and not to touristy....vietnam has the city life in ho chi minh city and the culture and beaches and relaxation not two hours away....the people are very friendly...helpful....and trust worthy so long as you use some common sense...I would reccomend finding out a little about the culture first just a few things about not offending anyone or taking there months food away...when invited out for dinner....take a substantial food gift...rice... tea. anyway after the tsunami its ideal
