Hello! I'd really appreciate any advice on the following. I'm hoping to travel around SE Asia later this year & given the regions stance on drugs, was worried about any problems I may encounter travelling through Cambodia, Thailand & Vietnam with prescription medication. Is it advisable to get a doctors certificate?
Thanks for any assistance.

I travel with prescription meds without any problems for many years. I do have them in prescription containers and none of them are narcotics or some kind of dope though.

Most of the meds you need can be obtained over the counter in Thailand pretty cheap without prescription.

My meds are pretty common. If you have some dope related meds (narcotic types) I think you would be better off getting a letter if you can and keep it with the meds ID'ed by name and tablet markings. Tablets have a description and often a plant number on them.

I keep the meds up to date with proper prescription bottles primarily for my return through U.S. customs. That is the only check point that I really want to be prepared for.

Some pharmacies will print out prescription labels and attach them to plastic envelopes so you can carry them easier in your bags.

Good luck.

Go cheap - go often!
