Morco's journey to East in 1271 ad was by any standard remarkable and by the standards of time utterly fantastic. He remained there for over sixteen years. These regions were virtually unknown to the west before he visited them. There was never any man who has ever explored so much of the world as did by Morco. He had been a lively, curious and intelligent young man having an acute appreciation of the visual and superficial beauty of landscapes, cities bustle crowds, people and liked mixing with and talking to his fellow men. Starting from Venice, he traversed through Turkey, Persia, Pamirs and finally Xanadu (Shang-Tu) the great Kublai Khan's summer palace and voyaged back via sea around Burma, India and reached back in 1295.
