Rafting In Gilgit River

Rafting in northern Pakistan excites the imagination. Here the mountains are one of the most rugged and isolated place on earth. Only recently explored and mapped. Strategically close to the heart of Central Asia is the hub of the world's greatest mountain chains. The Karakoram, the Himalayas, the Hindukush and Pamirs. In no part of the world is there such a large number of high mountains in such a confined, space i.e five peaks over 8000 meters and 108 higher 7000 meters in a radius of 188 kms. Hidden amid this net work of snow capped peaks and striated glaciers and narrow mountain valleys awe inspiring river system have prompted experts in the field to describe Pakistan as white water sports most exciting frontier in the world. The Swat river, Gilgit river, Hunza river, Kunar river, Neelam river, Chitral river and Indus river. All provide excellent stretches for white water canoeing and kayakinc.





ITINERARY:

Day 1- Arrival in Islamabad and transfer to hotel.
Day 2 - Drive to Besham by coach visit Taxila museum and 2500 years old Greek civilization..
Day 3 - Gilgit. Evening at leisure
Day 4 - Drive to Gupis by jeep
Day 5 - Visit Phander lake for fishing of trout.
Day 6 to Day 9 - Rafting which involves rapids of class ii to class v through most stunning secnery
Day 10 - Hunza and visit Baltit fort palace of former ruler.
Day 11- Visit Khunjerab Pass. The highest paved border in the world.
Day 12 - Chilas. Visit 5000 years old rock inscriptions.
Day 13 - drive to Islamabad
Day 14 - Departure. Home / Nepal
