my friend and i are wanting to travel in jan 06 and decided on Shanghai in china. recently however my brother went to vietnam and suggested we go there! we are planning on working and staying in one place long term so will need long term accommodation! which is cheaper or better for a first time traveller!? HELP please!

get yourself some guides (rough guides, lonely planets etc) they'll give you places to stay with a wide range of prices!

i'd reccomend all the places i've been in asia for you to visit & stay at...China (was only there for 48 hrs max) Mongolia (was only passing thru there), Thailand, Cambodia & Japan!

if you can visit some of those places even if your working most of the time it'd be worth it! some awesome places to visit in all those countries! :)
