It is very possible to travel in India during the monsoon,as the monsson does not hit all areas at once, and you slowly keep moving yourself north..Also, the mosnoons vary from year to year, and some years it is not as powerful as another..Also, during the monssons, it does usually does not rain all-day, and after a rain spell it should clear up-but necc. necc cool off..If this is when you have to travel in India, I def. say go...It is the real India, and you will experience this season with the Indians, rain or shine...feel free to contact me with questions, advice, as I am a American woman who lives in Delhi . Suggest you seek out a book called either "Following the Monsoon" or "Chasing the Monsoon". Excellent read. Should give you some idea of what traveling around India will be like at that time of year.
(Was also made into a movie, as usual, book is better.) bob www.pbase.com\bobtrips www.trekearth.com/members/BobTrips/photos/ Photos from Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, India, Thailand and a bunch of other places |
