I'm hoping to travel from Bangkok to Singagpore overland in Oct/Nov time. Have you got any advice on the best (and cheapest!) way do do this while at the smae time visiting all the best places. I'm planning on it taking about 5/6 weeks. Thanks for any help. x

Hi, I have just got back from doing the exact trip in reverse! I only took 2 weeks doing it tho so I can only tell you what I did and see what u think. Arrived in Singapore, stayed there 2 nights, thats fine to see what u want. Then get the bus over to Melakka in Malaysia. I can give you the name of a brillant guest house there if you want. Get the night bus to Penang which is a cool town. From there you get the boat over to Langkawi where there is a great beach if you want to chill for a day altho I would recomend going straight over to Satun in Thailand. From there we got the bus to PakBara, stayed a night there, theres nothing to do apart from the ferry that goes over to Ko Lipe. Ko Lipe is an amazing island. If you are going on ur own then don't bother but if you are a couple its great, very secluded. Watch out if the wind is up tho, the boat ride is 4 hrs! Then we got the songthew to Trang which is great. Stay there and check it out if you can. From there to Krabi (don't bother full of tourists and pizza places) and then to Ao NAng which is a touristy resort. Go over to Railey BEac if you can, its great. Then we missed out a huge chunk as we had to get to Bangkok for my flight and got the bus up which a lot of people do. Warning. DO NOT GET THE TOURIST BUS. We were held up for 13 hrs, the bus was impounded and the driver arrested. This, we were told is a regular occurence with this company called PP family. AVOID THEM!! well thats all I can really offer u but if you want hostel names etc I can give u them!
