I have rented a 3-bedroom in Beijing and I'm trying to find roommates for the Olympic month (August) because two of my friends decided not to go as they will be starting a new job this June. I was not allowed to cancel the rent now. I made the booking in October last year when I was there. The monthly rent for this apartment is EURO 5500. Approximately EURO 177/day. So, let's say you only need one of the rooms on a certain day, it would be around EURO 59/day as we will be dividing the rent by 3. If you are still looking for a place and don't mind sharing, you're more than welcome to email me for details.

The apartment is nice and comfy, not the old Chinese kind. I saw it when I was there. And the lady who rented it to me promised to drive me around in her car too for the month of August.

How far is it from a) Airport, and b)Olympic Stadium.
Is it on a monolythic housing est. or downtown.

Thanks - D.R.

i'm not too sure about the exact distance in terms of how many KM/miles but it's toward the eastern part of the city, and the airport is in the northeast. if you're concerned about airport pick up/drop off, i can speak with the landlady and she might be able to provide transport to and from the airport. as i'm arriving on july 31st, she'll be picking me up.
as far as the olympic stadium goes, it's about 9-10KM away (roughly 30mins by taxi). it's an apartment within a large residential compound. this is the norm among most of the newly built apartment buildings.

Hi! Unfortunately I can not help you find roommates but I can give you a piece of advice if you don't mind; when you arrive in Beijing don't forget to go to the nearest police station (PBS) and register there (all foreigners need to do that withing 48 hours, if you are staying at a hotel/hostel they would do that for you) otherwise you can get fined. The lady who is renting an apartment to you may or may not be the property owner, therefore she may "forget" to tell you to register (because she would have to go with you and bring her property documents with her). Good luck!
