On a thirty day discovery mission ( July-Aug). Am pretty well mapped out. Any info on the Yangtze river cruise that involves getting on a sampan up the Sannong stream would be greatly appreciated.

I do not speak Chinese. But am pretty patient with people and language ( I teach English to non speakers)I have seen all the youtube footage..prefer to stay away from tour "pods"..I am a US "river rat". I am backpacking and writing a book.
Looking for local flavor.

Will be headed north from Chonquin. Will be getting in at the last port west of Wuhan.
