Me and my boyfriend have been travelling SE asia for 6 months with 6 months still to go and we're having a fantatsic time, but after my experience today i feel that i have to get in contact to warn other travellers especially women. We are in Krabi in Thailand and today we did a full day Kayaking tour to Ban Bor Thor, we had a brilliant time paddling through the mangroves and seeing all the cave paintings and our guide was brilliant very funny and knowledgeable with a good level of English. The tour finished with us going to Tha Pom National park and swimming in the natural crystal stream, which was freezing so when my guide directed me to a hot shower i was very grateful. I got in closed and locked the door, and just took my bottoms off to rinse our and change. I took the shower off the wall and began to rinse myself and spent the entire time facing the wall. When i had finished i turned round to grab my towel off the rail only to find that watching me through the slatted door (you know the ones with the slats that all face down so standing at eye level you can't see in) was our guide, lying on the floor! He then ran off and hid in the toilets, i went back to our party and watched him come down the path from the loo's a couple of minutes later and he walked past everyone else and straight up to me to as if i was ok, which was a bit odd as he didn't ask anyone else it was almost like he was testing the water to see if i had seen him. When we got back to our hotel and confronted him he came out with some excuse about people from Ao nang come at night and it must have been one of them??? So we left him and went back to the travel agent and told him, who to his credit was very helpful. Even with broken English he did his best to help me relay my compaint to the company who after many phone calls gave the response that "he is 99% certain that he didnt see you in there, and because you did the whole days tour we wont give you your money back. When i argued that he hadn't done it till then end of the tour for me to complain about and that either he was lying on the floor or he wasnt they said well you have to come to Ao nang tomorrow then and talk about it with you guide, we just gave up at least now he may have learnt his lesson. The travel agent advised that i was going to get in contact with yourselfs and out a review online and they said "we dont care" and that was that, just goes to show what sort of company they are.
I felt dirty and violated and angry, i only hope that by raising the issue he learns his lesson and doesnt do it again.
