Chiang Mai is one of my favorite places. Was lucky enough to be there for Loi Kathrong (sp?) last November. Thousand of illuminated lanterns floating in the night sky, parades, music, etc. for several nights. Spectacular. The small town has so many temples. Every street is a delight to explore. A photographer's dream. We did not do any trekking, as we're not outdoorsy types. Lots of eating, lots of shipping. Four days was not enough. I would return in a hard beat (and I am not one to repeat destinations...the world is too full of wonder!)
