I am planning to go to Malaysian Borneo in September with my boyfriend, but he is worried about me getting hassled since I look so obviously foreign. Will things be fine if I stay with him all the time, or would covering my head maybe help to avoid any potential disapproval among the local Muslim population? We have never been to this part of the world- any words of reassurance would be gratefully accepted!
