Hi there......is it safe for me out there....first time to the carribean....alone...any tips r welcome!

Jules... Cuba is one of the most accomodating, safe places for women travellers. I have travelled Cuba end to end on my own for 15 years, and now (nearing 40) as a single parent of a small child (7 yrs).

I have loved Cuba. And now my daughter loves Cuba. I have never felt threatened or unsafe. I have always used public transportation, and I have never studied Spanish. (I am Canadian)

Cuban people are very fascinating and curious to talk with people from around the world, as many have never experienced anything but Cuba. It is a wonderful place to make lifelong friends.

Historically, culturally, musically diverse from province to province.

I have travelled many places in the world, and actually have a little house in Jamaica, but if you asked me my favorite place and people in the world - I would have to say Cuba!

Please post what area you will be in, and perhaps I can give you some suggestions of accomodations or things to see and do.
