I'm going to Kenya for about 4 months (volunteer & travel). I am 21 years old and I 'll go alone. Is it safe to travel around the country?? All experiences are welcome!

Kenya is a very safe and friendly country used to tourists.Nairobi is a modern city with all ammenities and woes such as traffic jams etc. If you are travelling really cheaply it is unsecure as in most countries but not because of being female. English is spoken everywhere. The best deal for young people is a network of apartments that for $10-15 night will put you up in apts as guests, mostly in very good areas
owned by young Kenyans who have lived and/travelled abroad and are very credible. It also provides peers to go out with and a secure place to experience the culture/food first hand.These situations require respecful and clean guests.I was there in April and had fun travelling alone as a woman.
